Konark cultures have been selected and adapted to ensure high rate degradation of a variety of organic chemical contaminants. Naturally occurring microbes are first selected from the environment based on their innate abilities to degrade particular compounds. The organisms are then adapted not only to support a high load of the target compound, but also to use it as a primary food source.

Konark has a rich experience in the field of water and waste treatment. Several sewage and effluent treatment plants have been designed and executed by the group. More than 10,000,000 litres of waste water is treated daily by the plants already commissioned by us. The advent of bioremediation into the field of waste waster treatment has led to novel, cost efficient, viable and alternate methodologies hitherto considered cumbersome, costly or energy intensive.

Konark Biosciences maintains close associations with many educational and research institutions specialising bioremediation. Through these and our own Konark Research Foundation we have access to most modern analytical and research facilities in the field of bioremediation.
